About ECEC

ECEC was founded with the intent to provide consulting and management support for New England utility companies. We ensure the projects are performed safely, to specifications, on schedule, and within environmental guidelines. From planning, estimating, budgeting, coordinating and management ECEC will be able to advise and provide oversight in all areas of power line field operations.

ECEC has experience with all phases of line construction including distribution, transmission, 115 kv and 345 kv live line, fiber, sub-station, solar, telecommunications and OPGW. ECEC's primary goal is to provide field inspectors who offer project support from start to finish. Beginning with the planning stages; ECEC aids in project scheduling, contractor coordination and material ordering. Throughout construction, ECEC performs safety audits, tailboard meetings and inspections to ensure compliance. ECEC provides the knowledge, expertise, and support to guarantee a quality product for utility companies.

Our Team

ECEC was founded by Nick Johnson in 2014. Nick was the sole employee working in New York until 2015. Today, our team has expanded to over 10 employees. Each employee has a minimum of 20 years of experience in the utility field as a lineman and/or safety expert in electrical high voltage. ECEC became a majority-woman owned company in 2018 with the inclusion of Sayre Whitehouse and Laura Lebel as owners. Sayre and Laura are UNH graduates and have managed the office since 2016.

History

East Coast Energy Consultants (ECEC) was started in April of 2014 by Nick Johnson. Nick had previously been part-owner/COO of Three Phase Line Construction since its inception in 1996 until its sale in 2007. After a short hiatus in general contracting, Nick decided to return to the utility field in 2014. Nick's extensive background (1980 – present) and motivation to work made his dream a reality. He began his ECEC journey in New York at National Grid. Since 2014, ECEC has added an expert group of employees to provide all your utility consulting needs in New England.
